Why We Started
Interest expanded, and it soon became apparent that the proprietary process would have a wider application than just tanneries. It was clear that the EMCET process could help abattoirs and indeed food processers to take control of their waste and convert it into valuable products on their own sites. It has been this continuing focus on improving customers’ revenues and costs using highly sustainable processes that has been the driving force behind Envacet’s creation and development.

Richard Thornhill
Founder & Technical Director
Richard established the company in 1990. following 15 years in the food industry, and 3 years specialising in food engineering. Richard is the inventor of EMCET. He has full knowledge of the legislative and technical licensing requirements of the EMCET process.
Patrick Thornhill
Managing Director
Patrick has over 30 years experience in the food industry, of which 17 years he has been an MD of businesses and divisions of own label chilled food manufacturers. Joined ENVACET in 2013
Tony Miles
Sales & Marketing
30 years experience of growing brands and own label foods within every UK and EU retailer, 18 years as Commercial Director/Sales and Marketing Director of chilled foods and abattoirs. Joined Envacet in 2018
Andy Adcock
Chairman
Andy has extensive experience within the food industry, having held senior leadership roles at some of the UK’s leading food retailers. He was appointed Chairman of Envacet in 2021

Director
