Committed to Delivering Innovative Solutions

Why We Started

Envacet was originally started by Richard Thornhill to provide a better way of processing animal by-products from tanneries. From Richard’s extensive industry experience, it was clear that there was an opportunity to transform the economics of tanneries by creating a new process that could generate value from these materials and also offer environmental improvements by replacing the existing acid-based chemical processes.

Interest expanded, and it soon became apparent that the proprietary process would have a wider application than just tanneries. It was clear that the EMCET process could help abattoirs and indeed food processers to take control of their waste and convert it into valuable products on their own sites. It has been this continuing focus on improving customers’ revenues and costs using highly sustainable processes that has been the driving force behind Envacet’s creation and development.
